Meet Sarah S.

sarah s.

Meet Sarah – Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Bass & Voice Instructor Sarah is a warm and welcoming multi-instrumentalist who brings a cheerful spirit and a whole lot of heart to every lesson she teaches. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Music – Jazz Studies, she loves sharing her passion for piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, and voice with students of all ages. Originally from Alaska and now happily settled in DFW, Sarah has spent the last few years performing as a gigging musician and connecting with audiences of all kinds. Her jazz background gives her teaching a relaxed, creative, and encouraging feel—perfect for helping students explore new sounds and grow at their own pace. Outside of music, Sarah loves hiking, fishing, camping, and cooking, and she’ll never say no to a chocolate milkshake. Her favorite artist is Anna Tivel, a Portland-based folk singer-songwriter who inspires her own love for storytelling through music. Sarah plays upright bass, electric bass, piano, ukulele, guitar, and sings—but the electric bass has her heart. And if an animal could play her instrument? She’s convinced a chameleon would make a surprisingly great bassist. What she loves most about music is how it brings people together, giving anyone the chance to express themselves and connect with others. She became a music teacher because she loves encouraging students to try something new and watching them discover their own musical confidence. If she had a stage name, she’d keep it simple—“Just Sarah!”
