Bass & Piano Instructor
John is a passionate and knowledgeable bass and piano instructor who loves helping students discover the confidence and creativity that come from making music. Teaching electric bass, upright bass, and piano, he brings a strong foundation in music theory, performance, and musicianship to every lesson.
John's musical background includes experience in jazz, orchestral, chamber, and small-group performance, along with music reading, transcription, and musical analysis. His well-rounded experience allows him to help students understand not only how to play their instrument, but how all the pieces of music work together.
John believes great music lessons should help students develop both strong playing skills and a deeper understanding of music. He enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults and tailors lessons to each student's interests, experience, and goals. Students can explore everything from musical fundamentals and technique to reading, theory, improvisation, and performance skills.
