John is a Pianist/Percussionist from the DFW metroplex. He attended The Texas Tech School of Music in Lubbock, TX, where he also was a member of the “Goin’ Band from Raiderland Drumline.” He is experienced in theatre/musical Piano accompaniment, including the musicals: Suessical, Fiddler on The Roof, and Horton Hears a Who! John Thomas works assiduously to provide a fun and engaging learning environment for students of all ages. Communication, listening, empathy, adaptability, and patience are the cornerstones of a reputable instructor. The lessons provided by John Thomas are structured to promote achievement, discover talents, and build confidence. He has a diverse drumset/percussion background, including multiple years of teaching and performing experience in the DFW area, and is a former member of the Dallas Cowboys Drumline, Texas Tech “Goin’ Band from Raiderland Drumline,” Texas Tech Jazz band, Texas Tech Symphonic Orchestra, and Texas Tech Steel Pan Ensemble. He works zealously in providing a fun and engaging learning environment. With a heart for people, John enjoys teaching a variety of musical genres tailored to each student. Learning drums will enhance your life well beyond your first few lessons, and students never stop learning. Playing the drums can help people express themselves creatively and emotionally, and enhances our sense of empowerment.
