Meet Cayson – Cayson is a passionate music educator with experience teaching students from 6th through 12th grade, as well as younger learners. A soon-to-be graduate with a degree in Music Education, he has performed in jazz ensembles, marched with drum corps, and led private lessons for peers, giving him a strong foundation in both performance and instruction. He teaches advanced drums and percussion, beginner piano, and music theory, focusing on building confidence, technique, and musical understanding. Cayson values accountability and encourages students to learn from mistakes while fostering a supportive, engaging learning environment. He was a member of Guio Jazz Group. Jazz Drumset, and Marched at drum Core. He also performs with Eunice Sugisawa (an accomplished violin player). He looks forward to helping students explore music, develop their skills, and find their own creative voice. Known for his upbeat personality and modern musical influences, Cayson enjoys sharing inspiration from artists like Polyphia and drummer Clay Aeschliman. He believes students learn best when they’re allowed to explore music they truly enjoy, and his advice to parents is simple: “Allow your child to play whatever they want. Playing strictly curriculum keeps them from finding the fun in playing.” Outside of music, Cayson enjoys cooking, gaming, sports, and grabbing Raising Cane’s with a Dr Pepper. Students also love his fun sense of humor—especially his belief that parrots and rattlesnakes might secretly make excellent percussionists!
