Drums, Percussion & Piano Instructor
Cayson is a passionate and upbeat drum, percussion, and piano instructor who loves helping students build confidence, strengthen their musicianship, and discover the excitement of making music. His teaching experience includes students from younger learners through high school, giving him the ability to connect with musicians at different stages of their musical journey.
A soon-to-be graduate in Music Education, Cayson brings together a strong foundation in teaching and performance. His experience includes jazz ensembles, drum corps, private instruction, and live performance, giving students the opportunity to learn from a teacher who genuinely loves making and sharing music.
Cayson believes students learn best when they are encouraged to explore music they genuinely enjoy. His lessons combine technique, musical understanding, creativity, and accountability while giving students room to discover their own interests and musical voice.
He encourages students to learn from mistakes rather than be discouraged by them, creating a supportive environment where students can take chances, ask questions, and continue growing. Whether working on drumset, percussion, piano, or music theory, Cayson's goal is to make learning both productive and fun.
What Families Can Expect
An upbeat, engaging, and encouraging instructor who helps students develop strong musical skills while giving them the freedom to explore the music that makes them excited to play.
Cayson is completing his degree in Music Education and has developed performance experience across jazz, drumset, percussion, and marching ensembles. He has performed with the Guio Jazz Group, played jazz drumset, marched with drum corps, and provided private instruction to fellow musicians.
Cayson also performs with accomplished violinist Eunice Sugisawa. His modern musical influences include artists such as Polyphia and drummer Clay Aeschliman, bringing a fresh and creative perspective to his teaching.
Outside of music, Cayson enjoys cooking, gaming, sports, and grabbing Raising Cane's with a Dr Pepper. His fun personality and sense of humor carry into his lessons too—including his theory that parrots and rattlesnakes might secretly make pretty great percussionists!
