Meet Candace - Candace “Candi” is a talented vocalist, proud mother, devoted wife, and longtime music educator who has been teaching since 2002. She teaches voice and piano and brings reliability, warmth, and years of experience to every lesson. A true music lover, Candi enjoys singing, spending time with animals, and creating joy wherever she goes. She’s a fan of seafood—especially crab and lobster—and loves treats like Snickers, Skittles, Mike & Ike’s, Good & Plenty, and Dr. Pepper. Her musical inspirations include legends such as Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, Kelly Clarkson, Heart, Adele, Amy Winehouse, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Chris Stapleton. Voice is her favorite instrument, although she also plays a little piano and tambourine. If an animal could “sing” her instrument, she says it would be a dog—“Dog spelled backward is GOD… it doesn’t get better than that!” What Candi loves most about music is the joy it brings to others. That feeling, along with encouragement from her dad and big brother, led her into a lifelong career in music and teaching. She discovered early on that helping students grow in their musical journey is incredibly fulfilling. As for a stage name? She already has one—“The Diva.” But she says she’d happily go by “Queen Candi” too. Candi’s advice for parents: “Be supportive. Be your child’s biggest fan. Let them enjoy making music. Yes, it takes practice and hard work—but don’t forget to have fun! Music is an expression of the soul.”
