Jay studied Music Education at the University of Texas at Austin and Huston Tillotson University. As a diverse musician in many instruments, composer and arranger, he has worked in various churches as an organist & Minister of Music. His other accomplishments include: Music Director for A Night of Worship with Christi Tillman (Dallas), Music Director for the Eastern Star M.B.C. New Years Concert (Dallas), Organist for the Full Gospel Holy Temple choir musical (Dallas), Organist/clinician for kindgom Life C.O.G.I.C. Pastor's anniversary (Brooklyn), Accompanying Gospel recording artist Christi Tillman (Dallas), Organist for the New Independant Baptist Church anniversary (Dallas), Music director for the Annual Choir Concert at Sanctuary of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. (Austin), Performed at Annual Martin Luther King,Jr Celebration (Bastrop), Accompanied Roland Carter at Huston-Tillotson University (Austin), Accompanied the Huston-Tillotson University & University of Texas joint Black History Concert (Austin), Performed at Second Baptist with the Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir (San Antonio), Performed at Riverside U.M.C. with the Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir (Houston), Accompanied composer Stacey Gibbs at Huston-Tillotson choir festival (Austin), Performed at Huston-Tillotson University's honors convocation and commencement (Austin), Arranged and conducted the orchestra for the East Macedonia American Baptist Church 75th Church anniversary (Houston), Performed at St. Luke U.M.C. for the church anniversary (Dallas). His Awards include - 2015- Key of Gospel Nomination (Musician of the year), 2016- Key of Gospel Nomination (Musician of the year), 017- Homegrown Gospel Awards (Organist of the year), 2018- Key of Gospel Nomination (Musician of the Year), 2019- GMWA Dallas Chapter Trailblazer Award (Nomination).
